About Mount Wuyi
Mount Wuyi, a dead volcano located in Northern Fujian, is the motherland of many famous oolong and black tea such as Da Hong Pao and Lapsang Souchong. It gives livelihood to many generations of tea growers, and has living tea plants that are as old as 350 years old! (Of course, these ancient trees are off limit for tea production these days)
About Our Scarlet Robe
Our Scarlet robe is a blend of three rock tea cultivars: Qi Lan, Rou Gui, and Shui Xian. As each cultivars has its unique characteristics, just like blending different grapes for wine, the aim is to achieve a balanced and complementing taste and body.
This scarlet robe is heavily oxidised, medium roasted, with a floral frontal note and a lingering fruitiness on the palate. We recommend a comparative tasting with our Phoenix Honey Orchid.
