About Mount Wuyi
Mount Wuyi, a dead volcano located in Northern Fujian, is the motherland of many famous oolong and black tea such as Da Hong Pao and Lapsang Souchong. It gives livelihood to many generations of tea growers, and has living tea plants that are as old as 350 years old! (Of course, these ancient trees are off limit for tea production these days)
About Our Sparrow Tongue
Picked in late spring, with only tender young leaves. Sparrow tongue is named for its delicate and small, curly young leaves. To maximize its high fruity fragrance, almost perfume like, oxidization and roasting is on the lower side comparing to other rock teas. It has a soft mouth feel, very easy to drink as your first rock tea.
If you are looking for a thicker and heavier mouth feel with higher note of smoke, we recommend a comparative tasting with our Scarlet Robe
